Wilkes County Schools and the Wilkes County Public Library are partnering to support students' ongoing education with an initiative called NC Cardinal Student Access. This program will create a library card and access for all students. This access will allow them to borrow and digitally access materials from their local library collection including hard copies of books, e-books, access to research data bases and other online materials. The library will be using the School System's student ID number to create the access. Parents may opt-out of the program by signing the opt-out letter available on our website or by writing a letter and turning it into the child's teacher by September 11. All students should have access by mid-October. parents may opt out at any time during the year if they choose to.
