Meet the Administrators

Mr. Ritchie Cornette, Principal

My name is Ritchie Cornette, and I am glad to be principal of The Mulberry for the sixth year.  I have been with Wilkes County Schools for 30 years working as a high school biology teacher, a coach, an athletic director, and a school administrator.  I came to Mulberry in 2011, and I am proud to work with the people of the Mulberry community.

I have always believed in working hard, doing my best, and working as a team to accomplish goals.  The Mulberry is full of great people who work hard, do their best, and work together to help every child grow to his or her potential.  I think of us as a family, and I care a great deal about helping our family to grow, learn, and improve.

Safety is our number one priority, and I want students to feel safe, encouraged, and happy when they come to school each day.  For that reason, we practice 4 rules -- be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and be happy!  I will do all I can to make sure that your child's experience at The Mulberry will be the best possible.  If I can help you or your child in any way, please call me at 336-667-4641.

Mrs. Beckie Spears, Assistant Principal

Hello Mulberry families! My name is Beckie Spears, and I am excited to serve as your assistant principal. I grew up in the Mulberry community and attended elementary school here. It feels special to work in the place where I first fell in love with learning and school. I have been an educator for 22 years, and I spent many years teaching elementary school and working as an instructional specialist with Wilkes County Schools. I live in Wilkesboro with my husband and our two daughters.

I enjoy being an educator and working with students and their families to make each year the best school year ever. The Mulberry family has been very welcoming to me, and I tell everyone that I work with the kindest, friendliest, best mannered, and biggest hearted children and adults in Wilkes County.  We appreciate the opportunity to be part of your child and your family's life, and we strive to help all learners reach their greatest potential. Thank you in advance for your support, encouragement, and patience as we work with you and your children. I am here to support you, so please call me at 336-667-4641 if I can assist you or your child in any way.
